The first recap of the year is here and 2026 starts with one clear objective: mainnet. January has been quieter in terms of public releases, but, as always, very active behind the scenes. Rather than pushing frequent builds and repeatedly rolling them back to address bugs, we’ve chosen a more controlled and deliberate approach. Extensive automated testing and validation before anything reaches the community. This ultimately leaves us with fewer releases, but stronger ones, with a focus on stability and quality first.

As 2025 has come to a close, we welcome you to this year’s Hydranet recap. Let’s look back at a year defined not by loud launches or sweeping announcements, but by sustained development, validation, and consolidation. If 2024 was the year Hydranet became tangible in a browser environment, then 2025 was the year that foundation was pressure-tested, refined, and prepared for real-world usage.

November was a quieter month in terms of public-facing updates, yet an important one behind the scenes. The primary focus remained on Lithium, where development continued in a controlled and methodical manner.

This month, our development efforts were focused on refining and stabilizing the Lithium protocol, bringing it closer to an auditable state and, ultimately, mainnet readiness. These upgrades are the result of continuous testing — with many of you in the community actively contributing. Thank you!

August gave us resilience. September gave us momentum. This month, the spotlight has been on preparing for a major Beta build update — from expanding supported token standards to UX refinements, this release sets the stage for an even smoother, faster, and more reliable Hydranet experience.

July gave us Beta. August gave us resilience. Over the past month, we’ve been focused on stabilizing the Hydranet DEX, fixing community-reported issues, and building the tools that will enable its future. It’s been a month of behind the scene progress, bringing us one step closer to a seamless off-chain trading layer.

It wasn’t long ago we launched the Hydranet Alpha build for the public, but just like that we went from Alpha to Beta! Now, as of July 31st, Beta is officially out! A huge milestone for our team and community. Behind this transition were countless hours of debugging Alpha feedback, fixing critical issues, and adding fresh features that bring us one major step closer to delivering the Hydranet DEX we’ve all been waiting for.

Hydranet, we’re moving quickly! Back in April, we launched the Hydranet Web DEX Public Alpha, inviting the world to experience the power of off-chain, cross-chain trading — no installations, no gas, instant swaps. Since then, our team and community have been hard at work testing, refining, and building. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be releasing the open Beta version of the Hydranet DEX — with an improved trading engine, new interface options, and added security features.

We’re excited to announce that Hydranet has integrated the TradingView Advanced Charting Library into our wallet and DEX, giving our users access to one of the most trusted charting tools in the industry.

With June passing, we shifted gears from the open Alpha launch toward open Beta and Mainnet readiness. Our focus is still on refining the product and resolving bugs flagged by early testers, but also on finalizing features that will define the next phase of our DEX. May 2025 has been a landmark month for Hydranet. After nearly two years of development and months of closed alpha testing, the Hydranet WebDEX has officially entered its public alpha phase. This release is more than just a product milestone, it represents a real step forward in our journey to make decentralized, gasless, and self-custodial cross-chain trading accessible to everyone. We are more than just another DEX; we’re a completely disruptive solution offering capabilities previously seen only on centralized platforms.

After months of rigorous development and testing, our off-chain swaps are becoming increasingly stable, and we’re thrilled to announce the open Alpha release of the Hydranet Web DEX! The release is to take place on the 23rd of May, so get ready!

April was busy! In addition to the usual development of our platform, we have also managed to do a much needed token swap, and 5 other DAO votes regarding funding. Let’s close out April by summarizing all its major happenings in this monthly recap edition!

Hydranet is transitioning to a new token following the approval of DAO vote #34. With this article, we would like to provide you with some valuable information regarding the upcoming token swap, including key dates, what’s changing, and most importantly — what (if anything) you need to do.

March has been a month of major progress for Hydranet, bringing us closer to an optimized and feature-rich trading platform. With one of the biggest Alpha updates to date, we’ve made progress in performance, user experience, and infrastructure stability, with swap times reaching an all-time low of just 0.4 seconds. February brought significant progress for Hydranet, including Alpha testnet expansion with 12 new testers, Web DEX improvements, and increased platform stability. The swap success rate remains high at over 99% with record swap times of under 0.6 seconds. Key frontend and backend updates improved the order book, Lightning and Lithium protocols, and overall user experience. We also released an updated Litepaper and quickly integrated the Sepolia testnet to keep development on track following the Holesky outage. Read on for all the details!

What a year we’ve had! Wen tests? Now! We are thrilled and proud to announce the Alpha release of our highly anticipated Web Wallet and DEX! After months of rigorous development and anticipation, we just a few weeks ago successfully performed the first web DEX swap, and we are now excited to share our progress with our community. This release will showcase how easy and effortless it can be to swap BTC for ETH, or any other token, within seconds and free of network fees, directly from your favourite browser. Keep in mind, Hydranet is still in testnet. Do not send any real funds to your testnet wallet as these will get lost immediately!

The month of November is all about our latest achievement(s), the first of many successful swaps on our web DEX. Our team managed to achieve the first successful off-chain swap already in October, although it was “only” through the backend. Since then we have worked diligently with integrating the backend with the frontend to create the seamless product we have envisioned. As first movers in this space, encountering and resolving issues is part of the journey. This month has been dedicated to refining our platform, stabilizing its features, and preparing for Alpha testing. Here’s a summary of what November brought.

We’re thrilled to announce that Hydranet has reached a groundbreaking milestone — the first successful trades on testnet! The trades took place on the 6th of October 2024 and constitute a significant step forward in the development of our Web Wallet and off-chain DEX. At the time, the trades were executed solely via the backend, but since then, we’ve successfully integrated the backend with the frontend, which is now undergoing internal testing.

April went by in a flash, but with it came several exciting news and releases. In this monthly recap we will cover the ongoing development of our Web3 wallet as well as the new bridge calculator and the release of our DAO Forum!

Hydranet Web DEX, the world’s first Web3 off-chain DEX for seamless cross-chain trading, is reaching new heights for each passing month. One of the recent milestones included the gas optimization of Hydranet’s Lithium off-chain protocol. Lithium will not only foster sustainable transactions and trading of EVM assets, but also make cross-chain bridging significantly cheaper than many of today’s solutions. Welcome to yet another recap of a really busy and exciting month for Hydranet! History was written as the Hydranet DEX debuted on mainnet on the 23rd of September. But that was not all, so let’s dive right in.

In recent weeks and months, we’ve observed a concerning rise in HDN being stolen from individual community members. We want to emphasize that we are shocked and saddened to see this on such a large scale, as it hurts our token and your well-being as a holder. To address this matter and increase awareness related to these events, we’ve composed this article to shed light on the recent scams and provide information on how to safeguard yourself.

Another productive month for Hydranet has passed and it’s time to reflect on the events that made August one of the best months in the history of the project! Throughout August we have gotten exposure beyond our expectation, submitted applications to institutions, and decided for the date of the next major release milestone for the Hydranet DEX.

The Hydranet token, HDN, is hosted on the Arbitrum network (Arbitrum One), and in this article we will tell you what you need to know in order to add the Arbitrum network and the HDN token to your MetaMask wallet.

Just last month, history was written as Hydranet DEX made its very first trade on mainnet. But that’s not all! This month, we got to witness another fantastic achievement as the first aETH/BTC trade was completed successfully! We are all bursting with joy, excitement, and anticipation for this groundbreaking tech! But before it is released to the public, we’ll have to settle with reading about its ongoing development in June’s edition of the monthly update.

This has been Hydranet’s most exciting month since its inception. The first mainnet trade with real funds was completed on May 25, 2023, when .0015 AETH was swapped for 64,498.89216638 HDX at 15:20:20 CET. After 1 year and 4 months of strenuous development with testnet chains and testnet funds, Hydranet DEX mainnet is in clear sight. An official launch is expected following a round of tests with high frequency bot trading and the Phoenix testing group. In the meantime, you can watch live trades here.

April started on a lot of momentum from Q1, and its end result is one of excellent news! The opening paragraphs of these recaps tend to mention several appealing updates that are elaborated upon deeper in the article. April’s centerpiece update is so significant that it deserves to stand on its own: Hydranet DEX is nearing the end of its final stage of pre-release development, and there is an internal target to reach mainnet by the end of Q2 2023.

Hydranet’s ticker, formerly $HDX, has been changed to $HDN after the community voted overwhelmingly in favor of the new name. $HDN is the new ticker name, and it is here to stay. Every website will be properly updated once the new contracts are live.

The second month of 2023 was a productive one! The DEX development made major progress and Phoenix is getting closer by the minute. Let’s recap what happened during February in this monthly update.

The first month of the year is behind us and Hydranet have already had exciting progress this January. The first successful arbitrage swap has been made between the Hydranet DEX and WhiteBit CEX! The SSUI made progress and fresh HDX Tokenomics have been released! This and more will be covered in this monthly update.

Happy New Year! Putting the genesis and evolution of Hydranet into words is no easy task. Nevertheless, this annual recap of 2022 intends to do exactly that. Let’s take a look at how Hydranet and HDX formed into what they are today, revisit its past once more before leaving it behind for good, retouch on all of the breakthroughs that Hydranet DEX has made leading up to the launch of Atlas on December 19, 2022, and look onward to Phoenix and the future beyond.

Hydranet achieved excellent results this month! The long-standing swap rate success goal for Hydranet DEX (95%) has not only been reached, but greatly exceeded: 98! The DEX has undergone several major updates, 3 of which were released within the span of a week at the end of the month.

Since our previous two monthly recaps put a lot of extra focus on critical factors that are independent of Hydranet, like the OHM rebase bug and The Merge (ETH), we’d like to use the October recap to focus on the state of Hydranet DEX, HDX, and the DAO in finer detail. A new build of Atlas has been deployed to our testnet group, market maker bots and swap rates have improved significantly, WhiteBIT deposits and withdrawals have resumed, and a new official Hydranet podcast has begun. There is a lot to cover, be sure to read to the end!

September has been great for the continued development and progress of Hydranet and HDX. This month was marked most boldly by historical upgrades to Ethereum that affect the entire crypto industry.

With August drawing to a close, it is time once again to recap the progress Hydranet has made throughout the month: new additions to the team, bugfixes tied to HDX/OHM, the introduction of on-chain settlement for the L2 ETH and ERCs on Hydranet DEX, and more.

Hydranet reached yet another longstanding milestone in July. It has only been 3 months since the Lazarus patch was launched publicly, and it is already reaching its EOL phase. Atlas, the next major update of Hydranet DEX, is now live in closed beta testing. Atlas features several major upgrades and overhauls to the DEX, among which are: Arbitrum integration, aETH, and HDX coin pairs, bot trading, and the implementation of Chainlink (and CoinMarketCap) into the pricing API. All this and more will be explained in further detail below!

June 2022 has seen development and progress accelerate at Hydranet. The coin swap away from XSN concluded at the end of May (read here). With the swap now over, the HDX team has been able to direct the entirety of its resources and focus on further developing Hydranet DEX and its ecosystem.

May has been another pivotal and busy month at Hydranet. A number of exciting long-term monumental shifts have transpired, and we believe they will have a positive impact on HDX into the future.
